Three reasons why I adore embroidery and think you should try it

If you follow me on social media you'll probably know I love embroidery but I wanted to share the 3 reasons why I love it so much and why I think if you haven't tried it you should;

Embroidery is relaxing

Embroidery is an incredibly relaxing thing to do. Studies show it can calm anxiety, and that our heart rate falls in line with the speed of our stitching. I first started embroidery to manage my panic attacks.

No fancy equipment needed

You don’t need any fancy, expensive or big equipment to get started with embroidery. A hoop, a needle, fabric, thread and scissors is all you need. Embroidery is small, light and portable, you can stitch almost anywhere!

The history

Embroidery is an art form that hasn’t changed since the 3rd century BC. Thousand and thousands of years, and embroidery has stayed the same. When you stitch you’re connecting to all those past embroiderers who did exactly the same motion of stabbing the needle, heard the same noise of the thread pulling through fabric. I think that’s magic.

So that’s why I love embroidery.
